Riveting step 3: Riveting the front spar to the HS-00901 skins
After attaching the front spar to the nose ribs, I began the process of riveting the front spar flange to the skins. I set the pressure on the gun to 40 psi and opened the regulator on the rivet gun to almost 100%. This resulted in about a 2-3 second burst of the 3x gun to set the rivet to 90-100%. Per other builders, I added some padding on the bucking bar to prevent the inadvertent ding or scratch of the skin.
Overall, riveting the skins is an enjoyable process because the wing section seems to take shape before your eyes. It has a Zen element to it in the sense that it is a simple task but requires focused attention and coordination. Small subtle and unconscious factors can affect the quality.
